General description of the institution
Państwowa Wyższa Szkoła Zawodowa w Koninie / The State School of Higher Professional Education in Konin, a non-academic higher education institution, was established on the Cabinet decree of 16 June 1998. Principles of the School’s activity area are determined by the Act of Higher Education of 27 July 2005 as well as by the PWSZ Statute of 13 March 2007. The School offers professional degree programmes in the daily and non-daily system studies. The programmes last minimum six semesters and include at least 15 weeks of professional training (internships, teaching practice). Additionally, the School runs post-graduate and special programmes. The School educates 4000 students. Although the Institution targets mainly young people who have no work experience, it also enables working people to improve and develop their knowledge and skills. The School cooperates with state local authorities and self-government, organisations, companies, small and medium size enterprises. It promotes education, culture, and science in the region.
